American musician Chris Brown is set to perform in Ghana on Independence Day eve, March 5, enewsgh.com can confirm. We can also report that the event will be held at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, also Known as the Accra Sports Stadium.

What more? Local mobile phone manufacturing giant Rlg, is sponsoring the event. The American act will be joined in concert by a tight local artiste base, in what the organizers say, will be an event of a lifetime. It is however not clear if the 23 year-old will make an appearance in Ghana with his on-off girlfriend Rihanna.

Dubbed Hope City Launch Concert, the event will be used to commemorate the sod-cutting ceremony of Rlg’s  multi-million dollar technology village HOPE CITY.

A successful mainstream act, Brown got signed to Jive Records in 2004, and released his self-titled debut in 2005. He is a certified double platinum artiste, recognized by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He’s had 5 successful albums, with a sixth one, Cape Diem, set for release later this year. He’s won almost everything including a Grammy.

His Ghana date is a dream come true for his core fan base, who have staged an unrelenting call for him to stage a concert here.
